This project is focused on the mediation of theory and practice related to an international history of ideas in an urban context. The approach includes an exploration of new urban-planning structures and the topic of public, mediatized, virtual space. Knowledge is deepened, and the area of urban planning and use is explored. Thematic additions to the design tasks and current urban problematic areas are examined.
Cities are considered trailblazers for transformation within society and also centers of political and economic change over the last millennia. Urban living space is shaped by suburbanization and structural change, and planning is required to embrace this as a dynamic process of development. A consideration of changes in urban definitions and structures related to temporal, societal, economic, and spatial aspects results in points of emphasis arising from an architecture-related, reciprocal interaction between urbanism, spatial interventions, society, contemporary art and landscapes. The methods used include: lectures, practical exercises accompanying the lectures, and seminars designed to mediate knowledge while taking into account the necessary orientation to practice.
