The Prix Ars Electronica is the media art competition most steeped in tradition globally. From the 3,046 entries submitted from 85 countries, a jury of experts awarded the coveted Golden Nicas among other prizes and recognition. Since 1998 the CYBERARTS Prix Ars Electronica Exhibition has been presented by the OK Center for Contemporary Art in the OÖ Kulturquartier. The exhibition is considered to be an international competitive exhibition for digital media art. Driven by a mutual urge to create new material, often in interdisciplinary collaborative relationships, the award-winners with their work offer an overview of the developments and illustrate which dynamics and themes currently play a decisive role within society.
