Siloland

This collection of grain storage sites in and around Lower Austria documents and analyzes 200 objects, ranging from baroque granaries to the powerful concrete silos of the 1960s to special contemporary solutions. Silos represent a multifaceted type of building typology. They are storage and transmitter, identification marker and lookout post of rural space. They harbor the potential to be the point of departure for rurban (rural and urban) residential development.
